'Why eat Raw?' I hear you ask, surely it's just another fad, and not something anyone would want to choose longterm...?

I thought I'd share with you some of the reasons why I choose to follow a raw food diet, and in spite of many challenges along the way, why I have stayed true to my beliefs that this way of eating will nourish my body in the best possible way, will support me on all levels - mind, spirit and emotions, and will leave me open to new and exciting opportunities and experiences.

These statements have become true for me since adopting a raw food diet. They're written in no particular order...but serve to remind me how far I have come.
I have more energy.
I feel alive - just like my food!
I am nourishing my body with food that is designed to be eaten - not factory made!
I'm looking younger - people are often surprised when I tell them my age!
I have found my ideal body weight. I feel light. My stomach is flatter.
I look and feel more healthy.
I don't feel restricted in any way, or on a 'diet' - I could easily eat something different every day of the year!
I am starting to truly love my body.
My skin is glowing.
I don't tend to catch colds or everyday 'bugs' even from snuffles of family members.
My food excites me with its vibrant range of colours.
I am beating depression naturally.
I have embarked on a journey, which has thoroughly changed my life. I am finding my true reason for being.
I genuinely care about what I am putting into my body.
My mind is clearer. I'm open to change and new ideas.
Every time I try a new raw recipe, I fall in love with raw food all over again!I'm excited about my food!
I have become more positive.
I have become more sensitive.
I have become more sensual.
I feel more motivated to eat healthily.
I love life even more.
I have learned to listen to my body more, and tune into it.
I am less drawn to unhealthy food, and the ingredients within processed and junk food repulses me.
I feel like, for the first time, I am really caring for my body and not abusing it.
I have started to really care about what I put on my skin.
I have become more aware of the environment, and am helping to save the environment through my food and lifestyle choices.
I've discovered a whole world of new and living foods.
I am no longer poisoning my body.
I have met and continue to connect with some truly amazing people along the way.

Phew! this is just the start!

Do any of these excite you?
Would you love them to be true for you?
It is possible, if you are ready to truly live!

There are countless books on the subject and I have only touched on a few changes I have noted within myself. I don't profess to understand all the science stuff behind this. All I know is how much better I feel eating a raw diet, and I can only suggest you give it a go for yourselves and see how it makes you feel. First hand experience is by far the most convincing I think!

Curly Cabbage Salad

CIMG0811 Slice your cabbage and put into a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, a pinch of salt and 2T nutritional yeast.

Massage these into the cabbage, squeezing quite firmly. This breaks down the cell walls and allows the cabbage to soften, making it more palatable.

This can form the base of your salad, feel free to add whatever takes your fancy: chopped tomatoes, avocado, spring onions, red pepper, pine nuts etc.

Top with hemp seeds, goji berries and cacao nibs.
